I hope they don't get the £5k and a new house because if they are subletting they clearly dont need the one they were give.

of course sub letting is fraud...social housing is awarded on individual circumstances and is non transferrable...

no it isnt - claiming benefit for a house you arent at .. is
( and under rule 100 you can take the overpaid benefit off the landlord as well, altho the tenants benefit form is hardly ever seen by the LL )

Probably, but why haven't they come forward? Illegal immigrants have either no, or forged IDs. The Berlin Christmas market terrorist Anis Amri was claiming benefits from 6 different authorities using 6 different identities.

PP - subletting a council flat IS fraud. The chances are they are charging more than they are paying the council so are making a profit. That property should go to someone on the housing list.

it came to light quite recently that a 2 bedroomed flat in Kensington..not a tower block.. was being sub let for more than 500% of the council rent..and, to add insult to injury , by a woman who had since gone on to buy a home elsewhere in London....that was on that BBC 1 prog about housing inspectors...

When the upper flats are reached and remains recovered they'll be added to the total already known thereby giving and accurate number of dead.
Or is the tally not as simple as that?
