Myself I found it to be rather insensitive seeing that the Queen is not yet dead and also the fact that those who were being portrayed cannot comment.

There is a convention that live Royals are not portrayed on the stage - first broken by Crown Matrimonial - Jesus so many years ago that you probably hadnt retired then - Edward VIII's speech impediment ( not George's sorry Albert's) was accurately portrayed.
and at THAT time the pundits and pedants pointed out that it was first broken by the authors of Henry VIII (1600 or thereabouts) when the infant Elizabeth was portrayed on stage set in 1547 so she would have been 13. one of the authors was a certain WIlliam Shakespeare

I did watch it but was very disappointed. When Kate left the room to go outside, did she have a cigarette? Didn't realise she was a smoker, and if she isn't, then they shouldn't have done that. The silly way they were talking was ridiculous and even that girl asking Harry if Hewitt was his real father! The worst of it though was showing Diana's ghost. No, I didn't enjoy any of it.
I doubt they were too bothered as Prince William awarded Tim Piggot Smith an OBE in March this year and he played Prince Charles in the original stage play in 2014 as well as the TV production.
Sad that it was to be his last role.He was a good actor. I thought it was quite good.
The living royals have been portrayed in several different television and film productions .I doubt they care if anyone is offended on their behalf.
