No agree with most of the reasons given above, nothing has changed since band aid. I give my time and money to charities in this country only now.
Much as I would like to, you can be sure that others will take their cut of the donated millions.
Naomi. Indeed it is, you may wish to inform you're friends it's not a place for starting petty squabbles !!!!!!
Sigh.
Nope. Every spare penny of my money is going to the Romanian dog charity I adopted Phoebe from.
nom..aside..how's she doing ?
She's 2 very different dogs rolled into one.

She's a dream when we're with her, the most obedient, affectionate, loving little creature but she suffers with horrendous separation anxiety and she's done a fair bit of damage.

When we're at home she follows us everywhere.

She must have suffered horrendously in the past. :(

/// A considered and interesting post would make good reading on this thread and give the opportunity to debate...debate, not name call..........how can you debate with crude and ignorant answers?....x ///

Is this the type of thing, to which you refer?

/// What a bunch of selfish, self-interested, self-regarding, tight-fisted, mean-spirited wretches. And mostly men (not thatI'd call them that) ///

that was Allen's post, a heartfelt one if a little misguided.
Yesterday evening this African disaster took up most of the early ITV Evening News, then later there was a half a hour programme especially covering it, and when that was over, there was yet another appeal for donations.

How much footage do we have to see of fly infested starving children along with their crying mothers, one mother said she had 8 children.

We are constantly told that women and children are starving etc, what about the men, why do we see very little of them and don't men's lives matter also?
Question Author
because it doesn't look good, the men may be off to war, who knows.
Question Author
of course they matter, but as you pointed out they don't get into the picture - it makes for more heartfelt tv when you show dying babies and mothers starving.
