Here's the thing
I went for a drink and a bite to eat on Wednesday with a friend and we arranged to meet today at teatime to visit a new pub and go for a meal to a local gastro pub
I called her earlier to confirm and then text her twice once to change the meeting place.
On the bus on the way there she called me to tell me she could not make it as she had been to her works do and drinking all afternoon
I was furious- not least because some of my colleagues were having a few drinks and invited me to that!
She has since text me (twice actually) to say she could meet me in 30 mins!
I'm so mad I'm not even replying
If she'd told me in the first place I could have gone with them
How would you feel?
She probably thought she`s just go for one drink but it`s never just one is it? One leads to another and another. It probably wasn`t intentional. I`d be a bit hacked off as well (especially if I had turned down other invitations) but as long as the friend didn`t make a habit of it I would just put it down to experience. Next time I arranged to meet her I`d probably drop a jokey hint that she was going to turn up sober this time.
^ would you want to wait 30 mins for her if she was going to be *** because she has been drinking all afternoon and is fit for nothing though? I know I wouldn`t
I would have been annoyed if she hadn't texted saying she'd be there in 30 mins. Doing a pointless bus journey would pee me off. I wouldn't mind waiting 30 minutes though. I'd grab a newpaper and have a quiet drink.
I would have waited 30 mins. for her ric, let her see I was a bit pee'd off with her and then forgotten it and enjoyed the rest of the evening. As someone has already said, friends are precious and we can't have too many.
