Which Queen of England was subject to many assassination attempts?

Answer - Queen Victoria

Em.... she was Queen of Scotland, Wales etc. as well, hence that question is wrong!

As it said "of England" I automatically thought of Elizabeth I and before!

Me, too, Tuvok!
Wasn't she Queen of England?
But she was still Queen of England!

In a quiz setting you expect "of England" to mean prior to 1603

"On 11 July 1603 the crowns of Scotland and England were united under King James VI of Scotland as he became King James I of England. However, the 'perfect union' that King James hoped for was still far away. Scotland and England kept their own parliaments, their own laws and minted their own coinage.

(ta for B.A.) |Or are we being made to feel that we are pedants? Don't care. ||:)

Gosh, I'm really surprised the Chaser didn't pick up on that and replace the question with a proper PC one.

Pedantic or not, if I got that question in a quiz I would argue (as in STATE) that the question is wrong - that might just be the point needed to win!
:o)
So, Hopkirk and Elliemay, would you think it accurate to refer to Mr Obama as "President of California"?
I thought Elizabeth 1 too...
Mr Alba and I thought of Elizabeth 1st too

I shouted at the telly :-)
Was Elizabeth I subject to many assassination attempts?
The answer to "Which Queen was subject to many assassination attempts?" always seems to be Queen Victoria, no matter how many other Queens of Britain or England also had them. It's a dumb question really.
