Well, Bronwyn my two headed butcher says no.
it was lifted 2013 I think x

Gosh that must have had a disastrous affect of the social lives of some of the Natives.
;o)
The sheep were easier to find in the dark Baldric. Luminous glow and all that.
Don't think there was ever a ban, or if there was, it didn't last long.

But there were restrictions put on sheep being sold. They had to be monitored, and any sheep that tested high was moved to a different field until they became safe to sell. It was more of an inconvenience to farmers rather than a disaster. The restrictions were lifted in 2012.

its the welsh farmers who should have been banned because of radioactivity levels.

Did Lewis Carroll write of the sheep with the luminous dong?
The authorities developed a lead condom to be developed for the Welsh market;-)
We have had a bit of a giggle, but at the time it did cause quite some consternation up here in N. Wales. Some of the hill farmers were very close to financial ruin, until help was rightly given by the Min of Ag. (or whatever quango was responsible). Strangely enough though the foot and mouth outbreak some years after caused much more disruption. There were restrictions on all farm animals, vehicles, and farm residents and workers. I remember as part of my job at the time having to have my vehicle ( wheels and lower bodywork) and my footwear disinfected on entering and leaving farm premises.

If you want to taste real Welsh lamb, have a look for the salt marsh lamb of Rhug Corwen. Needs virtually no seasoning, just rosemary and garlic.
