Hi all. I'm going to sell my beloved Audi A3 (as it only has 3 doors) and want to go back to a Focus. My question is if I go through a trader then will I get fleeced?, Is there anything in it for them if I go to a Ford garage and tell them that I don't want to pay any more, I just want a straight swap. I'm a bit chicken to sell privately.

sell privately as you should make more of a profit. If you are going to trade, go to a main dealer. Dont sell your car to a trader and then buy your car somewhere else as the dealer buying your car will only give you trade cost.
It is unlikely they'll want to do a straight swap unless your car is clearly worth more. If that is the case then there is nothing in it for you!
