Just been watching the news. Awful floods in Lancs and around Greater Manchester and even in Leeds. Our hearts go out to those whose properties are flooded and people being evacuated. Any ABers affected? I know several live around those parts .... thinking of you all xx

Just saw my B.I.Ls daughter on BBC News this a.m. They live in Bury. Family have been put up in the Holiday Inn for next 19 days. Woke up to waist high water in their ground floor on Boxing day. Both their cars are write offs.
Not lucky year for them but lucky there is available Hotel space to accomodate them before the government gave any more of our emergency resources to bogus asylum seekers and eco immigrants.

Yes we have seen little of the hand-wringing lefties who are soon up to the oche appealing for cash when this type of thing happens abroad.

We also have a Primer Minister who has promised to visit the areas after his Christmas break it would appear.

He should now be announcing his intention to take out a huge chunk of overseas aid's money, so as to help out these poor unfortunate people, many who have lost everything.

Blimey clear skies around Manchester now - can hardly believe it
but chilly for a soft southerner

[ cue ' I can see clearly now the rain has gone' sung by that singer with the tight pants ]

er well the COBRA cttee in London is hardly gonna jump on a train with a bucket and mop are they ?
There are already pleas for no business rates in the flooded areas of York - so yes I think the pleas for money have been quick off the mark .....
AOG well said yes we give aid to other countries ..yet when its needed here like its needed now people get nothing, i do wonder why we vote any of these governments in they dont seem to worry when their own people need help!!
// many who have lost everything. // as they are uninsured by choice .....

when Towyn was flooded all those years ago
most of the properties were uninsured and so ......
they just got up and left .....
£3 billion spent shopping yesterday by the British public.
I don't think my in laws in Bury were spending much. Only a lot of time on the phone to Insurance companies and their employers.
Once again, the false dichotomy between overseas and local aid emerges. It's quite possible to do both.
Seems my area is flood free, best y'all head my way.....caravans are ready ;)
Some expected replies, Bernie.....but I'd put you down for having a bit more sense and doing some research before agreeing with AOG.....☺
