We have a Home Bargains shop due to open in our town shortly. Has anyone got an experience of these shops and can you recommend anything in particular that you buy there? Are they good bargains?

Marvelous places...lots of good buys !

In South Wales we also have B+M bargains, which is similar. I buy my beer from these places....lots of bottles from different brewers, and all very cheap.
I have just thought...perhaps these places are the new Lidl !
We also have a savers, a poundland and a 99p store.
marval...you have a surfeit of riches !

What no Wilko store marval? Ha!Ha!
We do mikey, sorry Georgiesmum, forgot to mention we also have a Wilko. They are all fairly close together, we do have a Lidl and an Aldi as well.
marval....you are in shopping heaven !
I am indeed.
Nice square (re-usable and very handy) buckets of 50 fatballs for the birds, £4.99, over a tenner elsewhere.
Rugs, cushions and throws. knitting yarns.
Lots of bargains, but look carefully.
Wow!!! It let me type fatballs. Well I never!
Love Home Bargains for toiletries. Also sell some food much cheaper than the big supermarkets. Yesterday Morrisons wanted £1.09 for Crackerbread - it was 69p in Home Bargains. Also great for animal/bird food.
The nearest Home Bargains, Wilko etc are 30 miles away from my town.
Mind you, if I want to buy fish & chips or Dracula related souvenirs, then I am spoiled for choice here
The Home Bargains shop here is always SO neat, clean and tidy; they could teach our Tesco's a thing or two! I find it good for toilet roll, kitchen roll and toiletries in particular. Also great for small kids' drawing stuff. They'll have nice little things there for Christmas. Last year they had pretty tins for 50p. Ideal for home-made truffles. Also, as previously mentioned, bird peanuts and seed. Don't knock it until you've tried it. I think you might be pleasantly surprised.
