It's a "balmy" 9° here but the 35-40mph winds are making it feel like 5°. It will feel like 0° tonight. I can never quite get my head around "feels like"...if it feels like zero...then it may as well BE zero.

Only living things experience the "feels like" temperature or the wind chill factor making them perceive a lower temperature.

Diesel can freeze at -5°C and a driver could feel like it's -10°C on a very windy day but the diesel is fine because the air temperature is only at 0°C.
