There was still a covering when I looked out this morning bit its all disappeared now.

Also, what happened to Storm Emma? Or did she not hit London and the South - I did get caught in a bit of a snow blizzard on my way home from work yesterday though.

Big thaw is on here..managed out for supplies today, still cold but hopefully over the worst now
Emma hit Devon, South Wales and the south coast quite badly.
Mostly squelchy slush now. The water That I put out for the birds didn't freeze up today. Two blackbirds had a bath.
Milder. Slush..
A bit milder today - the icicles have melted - but still a foot of snow

Ah no! Hope there wasn't too much damage?

Sorry, been in a bit of a "world of my own" state lately so not really with it!
It's started to thaw here in Saufend. The icicles are shrinking on next doors guttering.
its thawing out here but still quite deep where it drifted,we have rain forecast overnight so hopefully it will all be gone tomorrow,i hate it :(
Nipped out this afternoon for essential supplies..limes for g&t, bananas because the world will stop turning if he doesn't have his daily banana, cheese sauce for the cauliflower cheese, and alcoholic crabbies ginger beer for the dark and stormy cocktails. Oh, yes, and a carrot cake just because.
No snow to report.

I'm glad its thawed or thawing now.

It was -5 or 6 on Thursday around 7am and I nearly slipped on the way to the bus stop!
We went to Sainsburys this morning after taking Tilly to the park. It was absolutely packed! (Sainsburys, not the park.)

The park was absolutely lovely. It was like walking around in a black and white photograph. Scrunch, scrunch.
Was snowing this morning when I got up at 8.30 and kept it up until 4 pm. This on top of the foot of snow we already have. Live near the foot of the Sidlaw Hills so it lies here for much longer than down nearer the coast. Finger crossed that the thaw will start soon. Car hasn't moved for over a week.

Luckily I was on leave Tuesday and did a weekly shop after dropping Little Tiggs off at school so had plenty of supplies. I haven't ventured anywhere other than work and stayed put today.

My brother and SIL went to Ikea today and said it was so packed you could hardly move.
The main road out of the village is cleared but can't get the car out of the estate. Went to the shop today (just to get out of the house) and it was absolutely full of people but the shelves were bare (they were rationing evaporated milk). I reckon the schools will be shut Monday as the country roads will be dangerous. I have enough food until Tuesday so will either book a delivery or send himself out to collect a 'click and collect' order.

Just looked up Sidlaw Hills Maggie - looks like a beautiful place :o)
There's the rub. The main roads are gritted but getting on to the main roads can be a bit scary!
Boiler was off for a couple of days, but now it's sorted!

Hope you get the thaw where you are Sherrard!
We still have snow after having hours of it fall today, the temp is falling very quickly which means now we have to contend with ice too - Oh the joys!
