Does any one know that if in a mechanical failure, could the main door of a bus still be opened manually?

Yes it can - via the inside handles on each side of the door. as schoolchildren we used to do this while the engine was not running

All bus doors are designed to be opened manually in case of an accident or fire. A sharp push or tug will usually do the trick.
