travelling grimsby to seaham

need to get from grimsby to seaham, going saturday returning monday. was thinking about train but it costs as much as taking the car so any ideas on buses or any other mode of transport? cheaper the better! thanks

It helps if you say what you have found. And I assume it's this weekend - you've not actually said

A superoffpeak return is £69 - no booking needed. At short notice I don't think you'll do better - booking ahead could have saved quite a bit - potentially £12.50 single each way

Train to Leeds then National Express coach (to Sunderland) is a possibility
