touring italy

has anyone ever driven around the coast road of italy, starting from venice and driving down the adriatic coast around the foot and up the western coast. ?
if so could you give an idea what to expect and the condition of the coast road?. any info or comments would be appreciated, many thanks.

As in the UK (and elsewhere), minor roads in Italy are slower to drive, most significantly because, in addition to bends and steeper gradients, there are lots of intermittent speed limits. As elsewhere, these require from the driver a much better level of attention than do dual carriageways, which in turn is why such small roads carry a higher risk of accidents.
