Are you allowed to bring hair straigtners in your hand luggage?? Dumb question I know, but I have a stop over at a transit hotel in singapore and need to know!!! Thank you!!

It looks as though you are, as long as you take it out of the bag to be screened separately. Have a read of the official regulations

If they are electric - no problems.

If they are gas powered then I would think you cannot take them on an aircraft at all.
You can take a gas powered hair item on board - I do all the time but you can only have the canister of gas that is in the hair curler/straightener. A Spare gas canister has to be carried in hold luggage.

if you straightners are "pug in" electrical ones then they are fine to carry in your hand luggage.
If you have gas ones then offically you are allowed to carry them with 1 x gas tube in them, any extra tudes must be MUST be oack in you hold luggage.
i have opersonally cariied gas straightner with me on a flight and the airline staff were not to happy so if you can avaiod this then pleae do as they will take "extra" notice to all other items you carry with you and it can take an awful long time to get through security!!!!!!!
