Doesn't seem likely that any type of expired passport would allow you entry into the UK

no chance,they wont even let you board the plane in the usa without a valid one,and we wont let you in either,weve got too many allready without them.

An expired UK passport will get you into the UK (maybe with a bit of delay), but a foreign one will not.

Not true matt66 - it would be acceptable (currently) for Canada or Mexico for example
