(PS, I lived in Nelson for years- crap hole isn't it? LOL!)
A rough guide to UK taxi fares (outside of London) is to work on the basis that fares are charged at around 2 per mile. The AA routefinder says that Nelson is 25.9 miles from Bolton, so that provides a guide figure of around 50. Note, however, that many firms charge extra after midnight or for 'out of area' jobs. That might take the fare nearer to 80. (It had better be a good party for that price!).

For some quotes, try these numbers (all with the 01282 dialling code):
690888
699990
616616
619619
615615
693693

If you expect to be travelling after midnight, remember to state this when you call or you might get a shock when you find that the actual fare is much higher than the 'daytime' quote.

Thank you all. Not sure about thanking BUENCHICO,the prices mentioned frightened me to death :)
If those mentioned are correct, then it's 2200hrs x43 to whitefield and a taxi from there. I'll get the gaffer to ring some of them for a quote, hoping to leave about 2300.
BOO,i'm afraid I've only ever passed through Nelson as my friend lives in Colne,so don't know what it's like. I know she's somewhat scathing about Burnley
I recently did manchester to burnley and that was 50 notes after a lot of haggling

Thanks. We got the x43 fom Pretwich, fiver each return. Wouldn't have been worth that kind of extra cash just for an extra hour at party
