For goodness sake, it's Passouri, but with an i instead of the a.
I went to ******** last August. I stayed in a private Villa which was really nice. The beach is shingle but nice. All the bars were good with really friendly staff. It's not a lively resort but has plenty of bars for the evening. The only draw back is that it is not cheap. It's about the same price for a drink as in the UK. If you don't want anything to busy then it's perfect. The people are lovely and the roads are based on the UK's. If your interested in a villa (the hotels I looked at were expensive) I went to www.exclusivelycyprus.com/uk? It cost me 265 for a week then flights on top.

Thanks Eejit very helpful. I have been looking at that website. I suppose what I am reallty asking is for reassurance that is neither Brit-pub/strip joints or OAPs as my wife and I would prefer to avoid both. However, we would like to visit some lively traditional tavernas and mingle with the locals etc. Generally would you recommend the place?

we'll stop there shall we?
I have been going to Cyprus for 14 years. Protaras and Pernera are excellent choices for a great holiday. Food and drink are very reasonably priced, the Cypriot people are wonderful, I can certainly recommend this beatiful country for a great holiday. The best beaches are on the East coast of the island.

Yes I would recommend it. The villa we stayed at was called Joanna. It has a restaurant and pool and a two min walk to the shop. It was about a ten minutes walk to the bars. Met some lovely people. We even managed to hire a car from a local bar owner without a licecnse! There are quite a few Brits there as there is an army base but no loutish brits. Theres a great water park about an hour away which is really worth a visit. It could be a perfect holiday if you want to chill in the day but like a few beers in the evening.
