I have posted this in the techie section too.My friend is in Thailand at the moment. She is having a rough time settling there and has been using the phone but its costing her a fortune to even receive calls. She is on pay as you go, is there anything that will make it cheaper for her?

Has she thought of simply buying a Thai sim card? She wont pay for any calls she recieves.

There are also phone cards that allow cheap worldwide calls. As Thailand is used to tourists, I'm sure there would be plenty of places in the cities to buy the cards.

GS - this may be useful - http://www.talk4longer.net/free_international_calls.asp for free international calls. Explained on the site...

Also similar scheme here: http://www.uktelecommunications.com/mobilecalls.html for international calls for price of national.

Lots of similar sites - search 'cheap international O2' and that should give some others to review.
