In a mint and red currant gravy, petit pois and dauphinois potatoes is on our plates tonight.
It’ll make a nice change from the salads we seem to have eaten a lot of lately due to the warm weather and my inability to be bothered cooking.
Might open a bottle of red too, or may just finish off the opened bottle of white in the fridge, or even a glass of Bulmers cider...decisions, decisions.
Ready cooked courtesy of Sainsburys, Barry. They’re delicious and I doubt I’d ever be bothered doing my own. 50 minutes in the oven, ta da!
I also really like M&S ham hock in orange and cranberry sauce, unfortunately they’re discontinued.
Don’t know Jack, it’s just what it says on the box. Maybe it’s to make sure they’re thoroughly heated through.
They’re chilled not frozen, came in the click and collect this morning.
Haven't eaten pork hock in this country but Schweinshaxe was a staple of good pub grub in Germany. You could have it boiled or roasted (went for roasted) with a shed load of chips and beer. I used to love that.
Sharon, I also got falafel and pitta bread in click and collect, that’s lunch tomorrow sorted. I like it with yogurt, mango chutney, sliced cucumber and tomatoes, all stuffed in the pitta. Yum!
