I have a piece of uncooked turkey in my freezer. It’s been there since last Christmas. Still frozen Does anyone think that this will be safe to eat after all this time? Thanks

Yes...........if well cooked...says Mrs sqad.
Should keep for up to 9 months if stored properly

Hi sqad. Thanks for the reply. It’s cooking at the moment, but I just have some little doubts. It smells ok.
Question Author
It was rock solid frozen

bUT. I had a new freezer earlier this year, and it was stored in someone else’s [a friend). Freezer for two days
I'm assuming you defrosted it thoroughly before cooking.
Question Author
Did defrost properly. Overnight
It should be fine, Bobbie.
I know that I am biased , but Mrs sqad is the gospel of cooking to me. Inventive, a total genius with herbs and flavouring with exceptional presentation.

I would have no worries about the safety of eating it but the quality might not be as good as newly-frozen food. We regularly use food which has been in our freezer for a long time.
