My mother and I are going to the Turkish North of Cyprus in late April and I wonder if it is easy to find a local agent with whom we can book a 1-day trip to Israel.

Google doesn't really seem to yield many definitive results.

We are staying in Famagusta, if that's relevant, flying in and out of Larnaca.

Thanks in advance.

The ferry used to go from Larnaca Lcg, that’s how we went, the choices were Israel or Egypt, I’m sure your hotel ( if you’re staying in one) will have the information for you ?
Sorry that should be Limassol
I would check with the embassy, CG, security in Israel has been pretty tight recently and I'm not sure if they'll accept such short visits. My daughter was out there and there was quite a clamp-down going on.

I'm sure I happened upon a website some months ago where they were offering the whole 1 day escorted tour with return flights. I'd rather do a flight there than a ferry which would take considerably longer. I can't find that website now and I'm a bit worried that maybe April is too early and the tours aren't running until later on.

That's a shame, DT. Part of the reason I booked to go to Cyprus was so I could do the Israel trip.

I did the Cyprus to Cairo trip back in 2005 and it was a fantastic day and superb value for money.
The ferry was very enjoyable , there was a show on in the evening then when you woke up ,you were in Haifa
I can't see it being practical. It's a 12-hour sea crossing and there are no flights from Ercan Airport to anywhere other than Turkey. So you'd need to fly from Larnaca to Tel Aviv. (Aegean Airlines, Arkia, Cyprus Airways, El Al and Israir Airlines all fly that route).
I recall my parents doing that trip years ago. My mother suffered glass cuts when their coach was stoned. They assumed Israel was the safer choice than Egypt. :-(
We did it in ‘99 and they had to close all the blinds on the coach going to Jerusalem and the guide was saying “ Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to a most dangerous part of the world” after that though, it was fine

I think it's safer these days.

Thanks for the link, 237, I've emailed the company.
