I do too.
.....and me.
and me
Me also.
I don't, I pair it up with another one (even if it doesn't match).
To match pairs, I sew a wee bit of cotton into the toe of each sock. A different colours for each pair. Makes matching them after washing so much easier.
all my socks are black so if one gets a hole in it i throw it away ... the odd one isn't on its own for long

Same as sherrardk here
I often wear mismatched socks by choice so as long as it has a bed mate of a similar fabric then no, but if it's a real one off texture wise then they go in the bin :)
Most of our socks are black or white so can be paired with other socks.

I've given up pairing socks except OH's work ones.
seems awfully wasteful, surely you have other socks that match, if not buy ones that are the same.
So annoying having a toe poke through the hole, I don't throw them away they get promotion to be cleaning rags. Kitchen floor etc...
Hi TWR,
I do! I went and bought a mushroom too, still throwing them. Bought some new today in fact.
I don't. My wife still remembers how to darn a sock.
Same as kval. I just throw away the one with the hole. I only ever wear socks outside the house if I'm wearing boots. So as long as they're the same fabric they're fine.
Bookie, I have problems finding somewhere that sells darning wool.
All of Mr Alba's socks are the same anyway.
I usually wear odd socks but I like them to be pristine so I bin any that look washed out or worn before they get to the hole stage
alba, Mrs. bookbinder says the same as you; darning wool isn't as easy to find in the shops as it used to be, thanks to this throwaway society that we live in now.
I used to find it relaxing, sitting watching something on tv and darning.
I remember my mum having quite a selection of darning wool on the cardboard thingies :-)
