I have been told you can 'track' a bus online but I am struggling to find out how. If it is of any help the service I am trying to 'track' is the 378 from Stockport to Wilmslow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this part of a Geocaching solution.

There is no mention of it here.

There are Contact Us details.

I haven't heard of it in the UK, not even in London, but maybe it's being trialled.
Some companies are experimenting with it on a few routes - but it isn't really operational yet

Not sure if the signs you see at some bus stops are actually tracking the bus or just telling you the timetable. That system is widespread but I don't think the info is put on line.

The bus stops in TFL area are updated by live tracking bus details and not from timetables. The tracking data is not publicly available as yet.

Whether they will release it depends I expect on demand. Might be good as an 'app' on your phone.
The stops in London used to have bustracking on them
yes you can track the London ones....sorry not much help in Stockport though
