I have always fancied a short break in the big apple, anyone any ideas for good reasonable accommodation, and maybe a plan for sightseeing over three days?

ive stayed at the clarion on 5th avenue which was about $50 per night, great location too a it was only 2 blocks away from the empire state building. Everything in NY is withinwalking distance really apart from the statue ofl liberty. 3 days will be more than enough to see everything you want to, bloomingdales, maceys, central park, tiffanys etc etc so much to do but make sure you dont miss the fantastic cheesecakes!
i stayed in the Big Apple youth hostel on West 42nd St (i think) - very near Times Sq anyway. It's very cheap $20 a night and cheerful. For younger people really. it does job for somewhere to put head down. you'll never be at your accom in NYC - there's so much to do!
