Someone I know whi is a ROSPA instructor said not to do them as it is not possible for one person to take in that amount of information in such a short amount of time and the pass rate is low

doc, dont understand your answer!
I am already the best driver in the world, so in my case it would be unecessary
I think most of us on here learnt to drive before intensive courses were available.

However, I did the course to learn to ride a motorbike - from total beginner, to big bike test, to cool biker chick in 5 days.

It worked for me.
It was a good many years ago but I did one. I wanted to get it done and dusted. I'm glad I did. It worked out cheaper too. It was a local company and not residential. I couldn't have been away with 2 small children.

Apart from sharing the front of a Micra with an enormous body building driving instructor on the hottest week of the year it was fine.

And I passed the test first time too....

Actually, there is one very good substitute for experience.
Do some of you think she means the advanced driving test?
No, I don't think so pips.

Does she?
I think they do pip. And rather quick on the defensive aren't they?

Car driving isn't that difficult, if you've got the normal aptitude for it. CAJ1, your ROSPA instructor is talking out of his exhaust......

doc, i wonder even though youve had 47 years experience of driving if you took the tests now would you actually pass what is now required today,
Would Doc be able to do the Theory Test ??

Ah Haaaaaaaahhhh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

waggles finger, triumphantly
Sorry Gina, I knew you were there, and I knew what you meant. It's just some of the replies didn't make sense and I thought 'they' were mistaken.
This is used as an alternative to prosecution for dangerous driving and costs around 1k.

A cop out for the police who are afraid to follow up some prosecutions!
