Im hoping to travel to Pakistan in June and my passport expires on July 7th, my return date is July 4th, would I need to renew my passport before I travel

According to this site, it needs to be valid for six months after the date of travel so you will need to renew it before you go.
you should be ok getting back into Britain but getting in to Pakistan may be a problem. You could ask when you apply for a visa. Best would be to renew now, though. They should credit any unused time still to go on your present passport.
You can renew a UK passport up to nine months before its expiry date, and they will credit any remaining months to your new passport.

Yes - definitely. Make sure they put any remaining time onto your new passport. I recently renewed mine and they wrote back and told me they had destroyed my old one due to it being worn and they did not put the time onto the new one. When I enquired why they had not given me the time (4 months) they asked for my old passport - which they had destroyed - I said I was unable to send it and have heard nothing since.
