Plugged in - not charging

My laptop is telling me that the charger is plugged in but that it is not chargiing - the light is on where is gets plugged in - what's wrong with it? Thanks

I have that now and again. charger plugged in, battery is full and indicates it's not charging as there is no need.
battery could be gone, have you tried taking the battery out and running the laptop off the power supply only? if it runs, the charger is okay and your battery is probably gone and vica versa.
assuming your battery needs charging that is..

Thanks Cazzz - now I have taken the battery out it is running fine so it looks like the battery has had it.
my pleasure, at least you can still use the laptop !

Did start to panic a bit actually - not the same being on AB on a phone (my eyes are not up to it!).
