My PC is dead and I am now using my MacBook. Is it possible for me to 'do' something to my monitor so that I can use it as a TV?

Well if it has not got a TV tuner in it you are a bit stuck.

Of course most TV companies now provide a player so you can watch TV on your computer if it has a broadband connection.

There is the BBC iPlayer, the ITV player, even Sky have a player.

As an example BBC player

Old VCR machines are very cheap as everyone wants DVDs now. Use the VCR as a tuner and the monitor as the err... well, TV.
^^ Won't work. The monitor needs an external synch, which is not supplied by the output of a VCR.
Maplin used to do an adaptor which they claimed worked with most 60Hz monitors to provide that signal, but I tried it with 5 different monitors and couldn't get it to work at all.
This is rumoured to be revealed today.

Thanks guys. I have a TV in my bedroom and that is the main TV. But if the PC is to be condemned then I thought that using the monitor as a second TV would be a good idea. It looks like it would be more expensive than I had planned on paying.
