It is possible the file is too big for your e-mail provider to accept it. But it ought nopt lock up the PC. How big is it ? What is the file extension ?

There are compression programmes on the Net that can reduce the size of a file, but video is notoriously large and so they may not reduce it enough. Also there are other programmes that can split a file into upteen parts and reassemble them again. But I think you may need experience in using that sort of thing.

If size is the problem maybe you'd be better copying it to a DVD and loaning it to your friend ?

Have you ever loaded similar videos onto your pc and emailed them?I would say that you may not have the software to deal with the video (media player or similar) or your computer may not be able to process the file if it is a large file. sometimes if your processor is not very good or you don't have enough ram to deal with it. It may also be that your hard drive is getting full which can also cause freezing when trying to run large files. Also your isp will usually have a limit on the size of file that you can send by email so this again could cause problems and freezing

You could upload it to Youtube - for more circulation. Then send the URL out.
