Thanks rojash, I`ll get on to it.
Question Author
No, rojash, upgrading didn`t make any difference, programmes still `stop and go`.
What operating system?

How much RAM?
Sounds like a possible resource problem to me.
Are BBCi films uploaded as you watch ? What broadband speed do you get ?
When watching video "online" it has to be download to your computer FIRST before you can watch it (this happens in real time).

If your broadband is slow then you could be WATCHING it faster than it can DOWNLOAD.

Either get a faster broadband connection, or download the program first, THEN watch it.
