whoo it isn't half parky out there; no snow now or predicted but it has chilled my knees to the bone. And that might be thunder I can hear.

I'm really only saying this to keep this thread on the first page while the rest of biddydom sleeps.

A lecture on guided imagery Sweedie?...looks more like mis-guided to me...and no, I wouldn't bother trying to 'save' them all

Erm, would you show me your watches please? I could do with a new one but I just want to check if there are any worth pinching...oops, recommending....first
Sleeting down here and very cold with sunny intervals . How much longer do I have endure being sewn into an M&S fleece I ask myself .
Scores on the doors Jude =18 . Fluke really as these are things you either know or don't know .I was OK on the picture rounds and the homonyms and unfinished books.I felt sorry for that lad who answered marquee as double yew ee ..he knew what he meant poor lad .I thought Paxo was a bit mean there.
Watches Robinia ? Cheap and cheerful from Argos .I have nickel allergy so go for something that is stainless steel .
No 283/6650 in their catalogue .Link is too big to paste .For best I have a Longines watch which Mr S bought me years ago and is too,too nice to wear really .Comes out on high days and holidays ..A watch to me is a functional item and if they they conk I just buy another cheap one .
Hope you are all OK today .My leg has started playing me up again .Shooting pains and it's all sore on the scaly bits . I'm worried it's going to ulcerate again and my hospital appointment isn't until the 24th .Bugger it :)

shaney and jude, have just (for the first time) downloaded UC and will have a go later. Haven't seen this prog since 60's with Bamber Gascoine whom I thought was lovely! Was he gay or just gentle? Only ever answered one and that was the translation of Under the bridges of Paris, my bf at the time was well impressed!!!!
No Neti .Bamber is married as far as I know .I think his wife is or was a professional photographer . He must be in his seventies by now .He certainly wasn't as abrasive as Paxo appears to be .
Actually Paxo is rather nice to them off set .Someone on Q&P was in UC The Professionals a while back and said he was a perfect gentleman and very charming .Apparently under the suit and tie he has an old pair of trousers and trainers on .But you can't see that on the tele .You only see his top half .He just bungs the suit jacket etc on for the cameras apart from the final of course .
I did well on Eggheads t'other night..does that count for anything in the brain ratings?...and yesterday in 15 mins I finished a really hard sudoku that was s'posed to take 30 mins...must have been a fluke :o)

Oh spooky, I'd got that watch on my shortlist shaney... Yes, just something practical is what I'm after...it's water resistant to 50 metres, my arms are long but I don't think I reach that far down in the river when I'm scrubbing me bloomers. :o) You're very lucky to have a Longines. <makes note to spike her horlicks when she's wearing it> The one I've been wearing is a 'Gucci' that my oldest brought me back from his hols years ago...I'm still waiting for the certificate of authenticity that he assured me was in the post ;o)

I see the new heart logo's sparked off a love-in in CB as per usual
oooooh, Neil Dudgeon's taking over John Nettles' part in Midsomer...yummy, one of my favourite men! ☺ ♥
He's in this weeks Midsomer Robinia . In Radio Times he appears as a cousin of Barnaby .Is he taking over the part for future episodes do you think .....ooooh.....ooglish
I did read somewhere that John Nettles has retired from Midsomer and that this current series is his last .

I love watches and have 100's of them. My favourite is one I gor from Argos last Aug for £5, everyone here likes it. Eggheads is easy, even I can beat them and twice I knew something that Daphne didn't know, so there!!!!
Yes shaney we'll be seeing lots of him - I hope!
http://www.guardian.c...-murders-neil-dudgeon

100's of them neti? do you wear them up your sleeve & approach unsuspecting tourists by any chance, haha?
tut, guess I'm not that smart then eh?

I wish I could do Sudoko, but I hate anything with numbers, can't even do the ones up to 6! Love crosswords. mr N loves doing sudoko.
I'm a Suduko scribbler .I am still on that sodding book I bought ages ago :)
I'm convinced there are no logical solutions to the hard ones . I stare at them like someone demented before scribbling over it and throwing it across the room.
A good cryptic crossword especially a really hard one like the Speccie or the ones in the Telegraph or Times etc keep me amused for hours ....weeks even :)
I 've never watched Eggheads Robinia .I'll have to give it a look ,then we can do more scores on the doors a la Slack Alice :)
I don't normally watch Eggies shaney, I don't like it, I just happened to have temporarily mislaid the remote that day, haha. Yes I do a fair bit of sodit-scribble myself, I've no idea how some of them can possibly be done...you should see some of the ones in a book my sister bought for me...it came with a free everlasting pencil & bottle of valium :o)

oh, I've started somthing now...Neti, can you get cheap watches out there? I like this one...daren't even look at the really expensive ones

Afternoon guys *kit just happens to misguidedly punch Robi on the jaw while stretching arm out to declare watch*

Neti doesn't it seem to you that *all* cats prefer men? Is it their deeper voices or is it some brutish smell ha ha I'm sure I don't know but it just seems like a fact to me. Ingratiating little b@stards that they are I love'em none the less. My friend who was here the other night? this is her new cat (they haven't picked him up yet so the video isn't from their house) on top of the cheese house and eventually stuck in the hole like Winnie the Pooh http://www.youtube.co...s#p/a/u/1/Kn24DMqfVcg

Poor Shaney, I am sorry about your leg. Can't you get an earlier appointment? / I've been watching the orangutan/dog clip again today:)

Jude Vinny is playing football with you over at the old thread.

PS Robi my watch is an Omega Constellation, no less, with a mother of pearl dial. I bought it many years ago when I was considerably more well off than I am now - but I still had to pay for it in monthly installments during a whole year... but I love love love it and wear it every day. So if you see something expensive that you reeeeaaaally like, over time, it may still be worth the cost.

Oh and speaking of nothing... http://i50.tinypic.com/1zm2kug.jpg yesterday...

I get cheap ones to match my outfits (hate that word!) and then again I just buy them cos I love them.
oh no Kit, you didnt?!! Hope you're ok, you weren't wearing the posh watch were you?...by heck, they're expensive aren't they?...You'll just have to see if the police missed any of Neti's...it looks like there's plenty of space in the closet now

Sure did. On my way home from the lecture (which was great), just outside an all-night grocery store I slipped on a patch of ice (it's difficult to find a patch that is NOT icey) and fell like a ton of bricks. It was a real nasty fall, so quick and so heavy as if somebody had a lasso round my ankles and pulled it full force. I hurt my knee and my hand and the side/back of my head, and next the sensor doors opened and hit me over the head one more time just for good measure. I got an instantaneous headache and didn't dare to sleep during the night for fear of concussion. But it's no worse now - and I can still spell 'instantaneous' ha ha - so I think I'm okay. Getting bloody tired of it though. PHU(C)K the municipality that won't keep the pavements free of snow. They just don't care as the injuries to people's bodies don't affect *their* budget. People with prams, even, are forced to walk in the middle of the streets, and if you need a walking frame, don't bother, just stay indoors and rot to death.

Anyhoo... you should have been there http://i45.tinypic.com/2ce2ec4.jpg

That's a nice looking watch Robi, we don't get copies so nothing looks the same as a good one, I'll look round the 1€ shops!!!

I also had a gucci silver/gold one from (ahem) somewhere and I loved it, wore that one for ages til it rusted!!!!
