ive installed a tecknika webcam to my daughters oldish laptop compaq n400 as she wants to chat to her friends on it on msn it works on some of her friends pages but not on other she gets a camera with a cross through it when it doest work why is this?

the friends it doesn't work with are probably using a earlier version of MSN messenger.
