My grandson wants to connect to the internet but they don't have a phone line now. Are BT the only people who can reconnect them ? If so, do you have to use their internet service.?

yes BT have to connect them, no you don't have to use their internet service

In fact I'd stay well clear of BT's internet service, their customer service is rubbish IMO.

Also Watch out for capped broadband deals where you can only download a set amount a month, they may be marginally cheaper but if you go over the set limit then they charge you a fortune.

Many thanks for your reply, and the advice.

If they live in a Virgin Cable area they don't have to have at BT line at all, and can get broadband from BT

Thanks Ethel- I think they were on a cable service which was taken over by Virgin, so maybe this is the way to go.
Will possibly be cheaper as well.
