Access Internet using wireless mobile handset

If I had a wireless mobile handset such as Sony Ericsson C905 or Nokia N95 8GB, and used this handset to access Internet via my own wireless Internet router or free wireless Internet hotspots, would my mobile network charge me for accessing the Internet?

Please note that my mobile network is T-Mobile.
