When is the best time to change your car?

We have an '04 Peugeot 407 saloon with 36,500 miles on the clock and we are wondering if now is the best time to change it. The dealership has told us it is worth �6,500, we are thinking of buying a Peugeot 307 estate, which is only 6 months old. We will have to finance �5,500 for it though!!!! Wondering how much it will depreciate if we keep it another year! Any ideas????
