As I don't know who you are insured with or the terms of the policy it is impossible to say.

Look at your policy - or phone them up for advice.
I claimed on my bike when it was stolen.
dont know about ur insurance, but o2 are prety good at sending out new sims. I lost my phone on the highstreet and contacted o2 over email and they blocked my phone and sim and sent me a new sim card out with the same number.
Check with your bank. Mine covers me for loss of mobile phone.
If you have all risks insurance as part of your household insurance, it is likely that you can claim, although the excess you have to pay may make it a bit pointless, depending on the value of your phone.
