During the 1980's I had two Finlandia TV sets fitted with INSTANT TEXT which was yards faster than FAST Text and miles ahead of anything that Digital has so far produced. Does anyone know why Instant Text is no longer available or, if this is not so, which manufacturer is still using it?

Are you sure that instant text isn't the same as fast text, which is yards faster than ordinary text?

I find Digital text pretty fast aswell.

What do you want, the answer before you ask the question?

Re Panic Button. I believe Instant Text was a system peculiar to Finlandia and was way ahead of button dependent fast text. If you find digital text fast then you obviously haven't sampled Finlandia TV Sets. I suspect Finlandias were too expensive for mass sales, but they were worth every penny.
Regarding your final paragraph. If you don't know the answer to an obvious question, forget it.
