dvd connection

I have ... a VCR with one scart socket
a DVD recorder/player with two scart sockets
a TV set with one scart socket.

Can anyone tell me exactly how I connect these together so that they all work? I have tried all the ways I can think of!!! Obviously, I am doing something wrong.

Sorry, I realise the top option above is for connecting up a Sky or Freeview box.

The other two sites should help though.

You say your Video only has one scart socket. I have always seen 2 scart sockets on a video, is it an old one ?

yes, it's a fairly elderly goodmans. i do have a couple of switch boxes, tho. thank you v. much for your assistance.

vehelpfulguy, if you read this ... in the end, i called in an expert, who spent the best part of an hour before realising the problem lay in a defective cable. had i known this, i'd probably hv bn able to do the job in the first place. one learns something new every day. well ... most days!
