Tv DVD Video connection

Need Help
I have a Digital TV and have just bought a DVD Recorder
I also have a video that I need to connect to them all !!
Help as I cant find my Video channel
I have the antenna going from DVD to the Arial
Plus from my DVD have 2 outlets with scart
On DVD
Have Imput VCR scart going from DVD to VCR
the ... Output Tv scart going from DVD to TV
Is this plugged in properly ?????
Should I be watching Video vis the Video-S sit and if so what connections do I need ????
Am useless with these connections and what is a HDMI Cable ???

Any help appreciated
