A friend of mine loaded it last night, and then a directory file disappeared from their pc and windows couldn't start. That said, it's probably a coincidence. He told me afterwards it had been playing up since he installed a dvd burner, which the pc is obviously not powerful enough to run. Just making sure that the power dvd prog couldn't cause the issue
Sorry to keep saying this.
You need to say what OS such as Windows 98, ME or XP.
Also any error messages on the screen. Then we might have a clue.
If XP try System Restore. Then if no problem. Re-Install.

Sorry - It's Millenium, and the error message was that directory file xxxxxx could not be found. (Can't remember off hand, just a general enquiry if this prog was known for causing issues.)
System restore isn't an option, as the screen is blank grey, even in safemode. No options available except a dos 1 - 4 (safe mode, step-by-step, normal and another, although none produce windows screens.)
If you want, try uninstalling it and give vlc a go. It's free and plays everything, including DVDs. Only problem is that it's not officially supported with ME, though should work.

Thanks, but that's not an option as since windows won't open I can't get to the control panel...
