Can anyone recommend a good make/model of cordless phone - something that will look quite stylish in my living room and won't stop working within six months, as my last two have. Thanks all.

Hi Ravenhair

We bought the BT Freestyle 1025. Its a main unit plus an extension. The extension doesn't plug into a telephone socket but sits in its own unit. We have now had it for about 10 months and it seems fine .. doesn't look bad either.

for a good stylish quality phone try the B&o beocom 6000.

Excellent, thanks both of you. I'll have a look at the ones you mention today.
Hi Ravenhair,

We needed a cordless phone/answer machine combo and can get digital. The Ericsson one we chose lasted only about 6 months too, so we changed it for the Panasonic PAN 775. The Link do an offer with an extra handset/charger that doesn't need a phone socket either (like the BT one). Looks neat - the base unit has a small footprint, sounds clear, supports Caller ID, you can have different ringtones for groups of numbers(e.g. one for family one for friends).

Not the cheapest option but useful if you want an ansafone too.....and it doesn't go doolally during and after a power cut!
