We have had several dvd players over the years. Why is it that on some players the DVD can be fine one time but then jump? Several dvd's now jump on my Panasonic player but a friend told me the really cheap ones from Supermarkets play everything and this problem never occurs. This was the case with my in-laws when our wedding dvd would jump on their 500 player but played fine on their 40 player. Is there anything I can do to my Panasonic player to rectify this problem?

some dvd players are quite sensitive to small scratches, bumps, dust or imperfections on the disc. I have a Philips DVD player and a Grundig one. The philips plays ANY dvd even if its heavily scratched. The grundig jumps at even the slightest bit of dust.

Get a DVD cleaner kit (spray and cleaner) and a lens cleaner. might make a difference
