Where could I buy an old Anderson Shelter, survival rations, and lots of toilet paper?

Can you think of anything I've overlooked?

The Arab beard, at only £2.99, seems a better bargain.

You need to scroll down to see it.

a uniform  might be useful

It would deter militaristic young women from handing you white feathers in the street.

Question Author

No thanks.  I'd sooner collect the white feathers than sport a military uniform in time of war.

Just as well others wouldn't.

No surprises there then. You need a backbone to dig a pit first to erect the the corrugated iron structure. You then place the excavated earth over the roof. Not sure you could handle that!!

Jeez, you try to start a light hearted thread and get traduced. :-(

A sense of humour??

The idea that this country is in any state to fight a war is laughable

The policemans humour is like the novice rifleman,  often wide of the mark.

You will need to stock up on Heinz Cream of Chicken soup.

Really?

You expect people to be over the moon with a conshi?

Am I expected to dye what's left of my gray hair black, lie about my age,  and enlist with the other ranks?

War is a young persons business.

I think there's some biltong in the attic that grand papa brought back from the Boer War. I suppose it will be beyond its best by date now.

I believe that many conscientious objectors worked as medics during the world wars.  To do such a job without a weapon is admirable.

I saw a YouTube video where someone is showing the viewer around his bunker thing.  It had a wide-screen tv - I'm not sure what he was planning on watching when the nukes obliterated the rest of humanity.

conshies had a hell of a time - my father's senior partner declared he was a conshie which was kinda odd as being a GP was a reserved occupation ( exemption NOT  automatic).

He left the practice in 1945.

Others joined the Friends Ambulance - others still joined research guinea pigs - how few calories someone can survive on ( 800 cals - but it depends if they are being 'worked'). Others still assisted war work -  and some refused all assistance against the Germans.
