We need to set up a cloud based document storage system for a group of committee members.

they have varying levels of IT skills and need access from different devices and operating systems. PCs, Mac's, iPhones, etc

Can anyone help suggest the most user friendly option for us? Eg Is there anything which doesn't involve everyone setting up new accounts or downloading anything complicated?

Google Docs allows for collaboration and can be accessed from any device, Windows, Apple, Android.

Easy to use.

Thanks Barry. I wonder if there's anything even more simple?
we don't need to collaborate as such, just have one person save reports and minutes in a central place where we can read them and look back at them rather than have them all in our inboxes.

the only thing I wd worry about is security and confidentiality

Google Docs is as simple as it could be

I et up a small club at the turn of the century and adopted the e-mail solution as I couldn't find an alternative.  I like the look of Barry's solution so may try it now.

I would think that you're unlikely to find anything that doesn't require setting up and maintaining some sort of framework yourself.  A private Facebook Group could be an answer I think but will require some setting up by you (not too familiar with it so may be wrong).

my choir has a onedrive site where the leader puts on the lyrics/downloads so everyone can see them

I use One Drive myself, so I will suggest that or Google Docs as potential solutions.
is Dropbox still a thing?

Dropbox is still a thing but the free account only allows up to 2GB storage

Compare all Dropbox plans – Dropbox

I use onedrive, you can control access send links etc, pretty easy to use.

5GB free storage with OneDrive, a better option that Dropbox.

Not all Google stuff is free.  If they twig you're a "business" you may have to pay for your emails and Google drive.

Thanks all.

We just need the storage - no email service or document creation or communication facility so I think it's most likely a shared folder on One Drive.
