Probably. It's a cat!
Probably not. We've done that occasionally. One of our cat likes a particular spot on the sofa and he just goes there wherever the sofa is. He sniffs to make sure it's his. Same with the other one.
i dont think theres been an update on toby's progress lately?
Depends how much has changed and if his hiding places are where he wants them!,
Question Author
Since Toby has decided the beds upstairs are nicer, he's not been down here much. So, he may not be bothered...or, he might be curious.
But as Tilly said...he's a cat! Anything is possible.
Question Author
He's about the same. Comes for a stroke now and again. Or sits waiting for me to play. I found about a dozen crumpled foil balls under the sofa. He still shows no sign of being a lap cat. I miss that.
Funny how when a cat moves in they eventually manage to migrate to the best, most comfortable spot in the house. They start off by being happy with the sofa, then migrate to the top of the landing, then beside the bed and then in the bed. They`re not stupid
This is going to be hard for you to believe, but so true. My cat who passed away 5 years ago at the age of 18 used to follow me into the bathroom and sit there watching me whatever toilet / shower.

The one day I saw him enter the bathroom on her own, when I peeped round the door to see what she was doing, guess what? She had jumped into the bath and stooped directly over the plug hole having a pee.

I saw her doing it many times even though we had a litter tray. But what really got me was every time she was always directly over the plug whole.

How on earth did she know that was the right place? could it have been some sort of sent coming from the waste pipe?
Question Author
Actually, I can believe that...I've heard of many people training their cats to use the loo.
I wish I could train Toby not to kick litter far and wide.
Get a litter tray with a lid pasta, that's what I had to do. The litter really hurts when you stand on it your bare feet!
Rearranging the furniture is fine. I suspect that some on here have all their furniture in the wrong rooms. :))
As in the Titanic as to the deckchairs, Togo?
Question Author
I suspect Toby wouldn't use it...I mean, he doesn't take to any of the usual cat things. Not the nice beds, catnip toys, feather toys. So I really doubt he'd even try a covered tray. I keep puppy pads underneath.
You'd think they'd be grateful for a nice warm home and food on tap wouldn't you? Fussy little blighters;-)
If we move anything, it's as if the cat has had a shock. This is followed by a slow check of the new situation. A sniff here and there.
If the new layout allows her to get inside that is essential.
Yesterday I left an empty microwave oven box on the floor. It had a handhold cutout she could look through, and she did. The box was physically pushed until we opened the top. She got in, and sat down and waited a while. Satisfied, she got out and wandered off. It's as if she gave her permission for the change.
Cats don't have owners.

They have staff
I have a fridge magnet with a photo of my cat - it says on the fridge magnet -
I'm only a cat
And we'll get along fine
As long as you remember
I'm not yours,
You're all mine.

So True!!!
Question Author
Lol! I need that magnet ;)
Pasta - My hubby took a photo of our cat into our local market and had the fridge magnet made for me as a pressie - no idea where the rhyme came from?
Question Author
I'll have to investigate that.
Thanks evadora.
