I just got a text warning me that my package will be returned to sender if I do not pay 2.99. I almost believed it as I've got parcels due...but all from Amazon.
Fortunately I remembered seeing headlines referring to this current scam. Beware!

Apparently thousands have been sent nationwide.
A pal telt me she had a text message about a £2.99 charge. I checked it out and not all the links on the page worked.

It was clearly a scam but I tried it on Chrome and had a warning message it had been picked up as a phishing site so that would help to reduce the numbers being scammed.
Bobbinwales it's something I phoned the CPS and was told it's because they're coming in from overseas , they've got no contol over them, the ones that the CPS are there to block are home grown ones ( she said :0/ )
-- answer removed --
You phoned the CPS about it, bobbi?
I think he means TPS, barry.
Elli, if you are that desperate for friends there must be something wrong with you. I'll pass, thanks for the offer, though
That makes sense, thanks, bhg
Not for that reason as it happens Barry, my friend lost her husband last August and she was getting as many as ten a day saying they were from HMRC,TV Licensing etc, she was a nervous wreck which is why I phoned the CPS and she told me they would inevitably continue for the reasons I gave you, anyway she's with Sky Talk Shield now so they can't get to her and she hasn't a mobile phone
Bobbi, the only CPS I am aware of is the Crown Prosecution Service. Do you really mean that?
And the Call Preference Service Barry :0))
Ah, I said Call, its telephone, well spotted my man ,
Can you imagine me calling the Crown Prosecution Service over crank calls??
Yeah , okay, I might of, haha
Never heard of it, I have used the Telephone Preference Service, though. Is it something your phone provider does?
Oops, crossed posts
Yes although they can't stop overseas scammers getting you , what I find abhorrent is the fact scammers can ' buy' phone numbers
Hubby got one yesterday on his phone. But realised how did they know his number. It was a realistic looking text.
