Bought myself a Crucial 2TB SSD - cloned the 2TB HDD using a USB SATA lead and Macrium Reflect software which ran smoothly - disconnected the HDD and connected the new SSD - switched on the computer and just the HP logo appears on screen and no swirly windows thingy - wont boot. Switched on again and hit F10 for the bios and cant get into it - just gives me a list of the chipset.
Disconnected the SSD and reconnected the HDD and works fine and boots.
Am stuck on how to fix - any ideas?

Togo - that looks a useful link. If I come to update my wife's W10 machine I'll give it a try. (Unlikely because she already has a 512GB SSD).

Had a chat with Crucial to no avail and upon research in forums it's seems HP have blocked SSD upgrades with a bios upgrade
Give the "System Image" route a try - you've nothing to lose.
Had a major struggle with an HP laptop because of "their" partition.

I tried this company, there's a free trial.
