Oh Gawd, another non sequitur post.
Took them long enough, didn't it?
I like Wimbledon and it would have been a great two weeks distraction
Think every public event is being cancelled including London marathon.

Keep your suffering to yourself Zac.
As long as your ticket doesn't get cancelled I wouldn't worry. Almost every other sporting programme worldwide has been cancelled as well.
Quite right Teacake 44.
What do you expect? Of course people are disappointed to see all their favourite sports cancelled, and their favourite shops and pubs closed, and their lives put on hold. We're living in an unprecedented situation but we can't spend our days in gloom and doom - and nor should we. That helps no one.
Hey, what if....right.....there’s somebody who’s disappointed that Wimbledon has been cancelled AND has a close relative who’s died of Covid-19?

(Zacs listens for tea cake’s brain cogs whirring)
// Who really cares at this moment //

well the tournament draws about 39,000 visitors per day to SW19 who arrive from all over and for that 12 short days, support the local economy to the tune of everal millions. of all the sporting tournaments that take place in London (6 nations at Twickenham, test cricket at Lord's/Oval, football at Wembley, etc etc) Wimbledon outstrips them all in economic generation.

Well under the circumstances it's better it is cancelled else there will be no future local economy to support. :-)

17.25 39k of snobs. that can afford to go.
teacake, I'm not 'worrying'. I'm doing my best to avoid becoming unwell, that's all. I'm not preaching doom and gloom and giving others the hump about the situation, that's for sure. Cheer up!
They’re not snobs, teacake.
Oh dear.
My wife was a nurse and we used to live in Wimbledon. We were not rich but she queued outside on the days, when she was off work or night duty, to get an admittance ticket if she was in luck. She is no snob.
We know several people who go to Wimbledon and none of them are snobs - they can't be or they wouldn't talk to us.
Silver lining, more strawberries for the rest of us.
I think teacake is what's known as an inverted snob. They can usually moan for England!
