It's possible you've moved everything to the recycle bin by mistake. Windows normally does this so that you can recover a file deleted in error.

To empty the recycle bin, right click the "recycle bin" on the desktop and select "empty". You can by-pass everything you delete going to the recycle bin by selecting the file you want to delete and holding down the shift key and pressing delete.

Hope that helps.

Dave

Have you emptied the Recycle Bin?
Once you have delted everything you wanted deleted it will go to the Recylce bin. Right click on this and choose empty. This will remove everything. After click 'Start' 'Programs' 'Accessories', 'System Tools' 'Disk clean up' Run this to ensure everything is deleted properly

I had already emptied the recycle bin and cleaned the disc
Run a disk defragmenter (defrag) usually found in system tools.
Question Author
When defrag has been run there are 30 files that the pc couldnt defragment, all the files are system restore files and they are all 255MB big. Is this usual, and if not is there something we can do to defrag them?
You now only need one system restore point - delete the others (turn system restore off?) and create ONE new restore point.
Your PC seems far more complicated than mine! Delete something - it's gone! hurrah!!!
